It’s time to start following up with clients and leads before the holiday season hits.

In the excitement and fun of summer, many Fab Fempreneurs let certain business tasks go, like follow-up calls with your prospects. Don’t feel bad about it. We all make adjustments to our goals and plans when the seasons change. But now that summer is over, it’s time to fall back into step and take advantage of the time you have left in the year to reach out to clients and prospects.

Falling Behind

If you are one of the many fab fempreneurs who got the chance to take some time off and enjoy the summer, that’s great! But it could mean you pulled your focus away from activities that help your business grow. Female entrepreneurs tend to put pursuing new clients, networking and developing new products and services on the back burner when they know they won’t have enough time to work on big projects.

There’s nothing wrong with taking some time for yourself, but it does affect the amount of energy you can give to your business. You may have noticed changes in your bottom line, or fewer new clients inquiring about your products or services. Don’t take it personally, it’s just because you’ve been a little off the grid lately. Incidentally, now is a great time to pick up that phone and make some of those calls you’ve been putting off.

Fall Back Into Step

It may feel like there is still plenty of 2013 left to snag clients, but the holidays are coming up, which means you and your clients are likely to soon be traveling, shopping and otherwise distracted. You have a shrinking window to really dig in and start crossing achievements off your list of goals for the year. It’s a good idea to schedule any meetings as soon as possible, because once the third week in November hits, you’ll get more excuses than meetings.

Keep in mind that Fab Fempreneurs aren’t the only ones with goals to hit before the end of the year, so when you talk to new clients who aren’t business owners, make sure you emphasize how your product or services can help them accomplish any goals they may have. Let them know you want to take care of their needs before the holiday season so they can sit back, enjoy and celebrate. Leading clients your way now will help you avoid hearing “I’m just too busy right now,” in the last weeks of the year. It will also allow you to relax and enjoy the season by ensuring your business continues to grow into the new year.

While summer’s distractions may have slowed down business for some female entrepreneurs, there’s still time to ratchet things back up and finish the year strong. We all get sidetracked from time to time, but that’s okay as long as we get back on track when the time is right. And right now, it’s time for some follow up- or Fall-ow Up!
